Volunteer Graphic Designer (Remote)
About Sylvia’s Sisters:
Sylvia’s Sisters is a Central Virginia-based non-profit organization dedicated to combating period poverty by providing quality menstrual products to those in need. Our mission is to ensure that all menstruators can thrive at home, in school, and at work without the added stress of inadequate access to period products. We’re currently celebrating 10 years as an official 501(c)(3) and have distributed over 1.1 million period products locally and globally.
Position Overview:
We’re seeking a creative, passionate Volunteer Graphic Designer to join our team! You will help us communicate our mission and impact through visually compelling materials, including PowerPoint presentations, brochures, and social media content. The ideal candidate is someone who can dedicate a few hours per month and is experienced with Canva and Google Suite.
Responsibilities:
- Create and design engaging PowerPoint presentations for events, meetings, and outreach efforts.
- Develop brochures and other printed materials to promote Sylvia’s Sisters’ work and mission.
- Design social media graphics to increase visibility and engagement on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
- Collaborate with the Sylvia’s Sisters team to ensure branding consistency across all visual materials.
- Help brainstorm creative ideas to raise awareness about period poverty and support for Sylvia’s Sisters.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in Canva and Google Suite (Slides, Docs, etc.).
- Experience creating visual content for presentations, print materials, and social media.
- Strong design skills with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Passion for social impact, women’s health, and community service is a plus!
- Experience with non-profits or similar causes is preferred but not required.
Time Commitment
This is a remote volunteer position with an estimated commitment of less than 10 hours per month. We are flexible and can work with your schedule!
