Kirva Hospice
Brief Organizational Description: Kirva Hospice is a non-profit organization providing excellence of care to our patients, families, and caregivers through our interdisciplinary team in the Greater Richmond Region. Our team consists of medical directors, RNs, nurses aides, social workers, spiritual counselors, bereavement coordinators, volunteers, and a variety of other professionals who come together to provide comprehensive support and care for patients and families.
Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:
Therapy pet owners and Hospice volunteers provide a wide range of support to patients and their families for companioship, caregiver relief and bereavement.
Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:
Hospice volunteers can help with tasks such as running errands, providing companionship, or organizing activities for the patient. Hospice volunteers may also take on administrative roles such as providing transportation and assisting with paperwork.
Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
Volunteers must be 18 or older and commit to a minimum of 4 months.
Time Commitment:
Can volunteer an hour every other week or weekly.
Other Information (if applicable):
- There is a mandatory orientation, background check and drug test.
- Volunteer hours can be documented through Kirva Hospice and through HandsOn.
