Food Pantry at Living Water
Brief Organizational Description:
Living Water Community Center is located in the Forest Hill area. Our mission is to cultivate healthy community through contemplative practices like mindful beekeeping, urban farming, yoga, and meditation.
Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:
On the first and third Fridays of each month, we offer a food pantry from 1 pm until 3 pm. Set-up begins at 12:30 pm, and we complete clean-up by 3:30 pm.
Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:
Tasks can include setting food on tables, assisting people in finding special foods they may need, carrying bags for those who can't easily carry things, and putting everything away at the end of the day. In summer we may also harvest a few things from the nearby garden.
Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
We can teach anything you need to know. All are welcome.
Time Commitment:
We set up at 12:30 pm, so that is the ideal time to arrive, but even that is flexible. You are welcome for an hour or for the afternoon.
Other Information (if applicable):
- Please bring your volunteer log if you'd like us to sign it
- Wear comfortable work clothing
- We have a parking lot and abundant street parking
- Consider bringing water, a snack. and anything you need to be comfortable
