Community Events Volunteer
The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.
As a Recruitment Volunteer, you will represent the Red Cross at various community events and groups, such as fairs, festivals, schools, churches, and clubs. You will engage with potential volunteers and inform them about the volunteer opportunities available in their area. You will also assist them with the application process and follow up with them until they are onboarded. By being a Recruitment Volunteer, you will help us grow our volunteer base and ensure that we have enough volunteers to fulfill our lifesaving mission. You will also have the opportunity to network with other organizations and individuals who share your passion for service.
Responsibilities:
- Attend community events and groups as assigned by the Volunteer Services staff.
- Set up and staff a Red Cross booth or table with recruitment materials and displays.
- Interact with potential volunteers and explain the benefits and requirements of volunteering with the Red Cross.
- Collect contact information and interest forms from potential volunteers and enter them into the volunteer management system.
Requirements:
- A commitment of at least 6 months and 4 hours per month.
- A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle (a Red Cross vehicle and gas card will be provided).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A professional and positive attitude.
- A willingness to learn and follow the Red Cross policies and procedures.
