Volunteer at Multicultural Festival June 14!
Brief Organizational Description: The mission of ReEstablish Richmond is to connect refugees and new immigrants to the resources they need to establish roots, build community, and become self-sufficient. Our vision is a community where all are united for the welcome and well-being of newcomers.
Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:
The City of Richmond's Office of Immigrant and Refugee Engagement and ReEstablish Richmond are thrilled to partner together again for this year's Multicultural Festival. The day will be filled with delicious food, cultural performances, activities for families and children, resources from community partners, and more. Volunteers are crucial to helping make this event possible.
Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:
- Event Set Up Support (11:00-12:30): Help vendors and community partners set up their tables and carry things from their vehicles, must be able to lift heavy objects. 8 people needed.
- General Event Support (1:00-4:00): Help things run smoothly during the day, supporting vendors, children's area, performers, welcoming people, cleaning up food area, etc.
- General Event Support: (4:00-7:00): Help things run smoothly during the day, supporting vendors, children's area, performers, welcoming people, cleaning up food area, etc.
- Teardown Support (6:30-8:00): Help with tear down of the event (Must be able to life heavy objects).
Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
Volunteers who volunteer for more than three hours are entitled to a food voucher. Volunteers must be 14 years or older to volunteer.
Volunteers are strongly encouraged to attend a virtual Orientation session on Zoom on Monday, June 9 at 7:30 p.m. or Tuesday, June 10 at 12:00 p.m. All participants will be emailed the link after signing up. Spanish interpretation will be available.
