Live Red Foundation Run and Canicross Event at Chesterfield Outdoor Fest
Brief Organizational Description:
Live Red Foundation empowers children in low-opportunity communities throughout Richmond, VA by teaching them life skills through free fitness programs. In 2023 we reached 10,000 children! We fund our programs through corporate sponsorships, individual donations, and proceeds from a series of multisport events. These events further our mission of empowering children and are critical to our fundraising efforts.
Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:
As part of the Chesterfield County Outdoor Fest, Live Red Foundation will be hosting several runs for all ages including Richmond’s first-ever Canicross event which is a team sport consisting of a person and a dog running together. Originating in Europe, Canicross is relatively unheard of in the United States until NOW!! Be one of the first to enjoy this amazing new sport.
In addition to the Canicross event, we will have a dog-friendly 5K and kid’s mile.
Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:
Volunteers are needed for set up, run course support, water and aid station, and anywhere needed.
Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
Most volunteer roles require no special skills or training.
Time Commitment:
Most shifts are 2-4 hours in length.

- Volunteer hours will be verified
- Dress comfortable for the weather. Volunteers will be given a volunteer shirt.
