Featured DIY - Dental Kits for GoochlandCares
DIY Volunteering allows individuals, families and groups of all ages and sizes to participate in community service from the comfort of their own homes. Volunteers purchase supplies and complete the kits in their own space then drop off completed projects at the designated days/times below.
Dental Kits
Organizational Beneficiary: Goochland Cares
Purpose: GoochlandCares has been a safety net for the community since 1952. Their mission is to provide basic human services and health care to Goochland residents in need. GoochlandCares envisions an equitable community in which all persons have their basic needs met, empowering them to lead lives of self-dignity and well-being. Their clinic provides access to medical care for low-income and uninsured residents of Goochland. Dental kits are distributed to residents when they visit the Dental Clinic or the Food Pantry to help reduce barriers to dental hygiene. In 2024, the Dental Clinic served over 2,000 Goochland residents. You can help make a difference in someone's health and life!
Volunteers are asked to make 5 dental kits with an encouraging note.
How To:
1. Sign up for the project by clicking the button below. Every person who plans to volunteer (including youth) must sign up. You can create a volunteer team to sign up your group or family members. Read about how to create and manage teams.
2. Review the instructions and supply list here.
3. DIY! We ask that each participant make 5 dental kits. There is no maximum contribution for this project, but we will not be able to document more than 3 service hours for any DIY project. Please sign up for only one drop-off date.
4. Bring your completed DIY to the drop-off location at the days/times listed on the posting. No DIY form or youth waiver is needed.
