Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:
Planet Rock is a community farm and healing space dedicated to cultivating growth, education, and connection. Our mission is to create a place where people can learn about sustainable agriculture, medicinal plants, and community wellness while working with the land.
At Planet Rock, we grow herbs, flowers, and foods that nourish both body and spirit. This space is designed to host workshops, community gatherings, and hands-on learning experiences that inspire people to connect with nature, learn traditional and modern growing practices, and discover new pathways toward health and healing.
By opening the land to the community, we aim to provide alternatives and new options for growing food, accessing medicinal herbs, and building deeper relationships with the Earth.
Volunteers at Planet Rock play a vital role in bringing our vision to life. The work focuses on creating and maintaining new garden spaces through hands-on farm activities such as:
• Preparing and planting garden beds
• Weeding and mulching to support healthy plant growth
• Watering, maintaining, and nurturing herbs, vegetables, and flowers
• Assisting with seasonal planting and crop care
• Helping design and expand new growing spaces
• General farm upkeep, maintenance, and creative improvements
Volunteering here is not only about working the land—it’s also an opportunity to learn about sustainable agriculture, community food systems, and the medicinal benefits of plants, while contributing to a project that strengthens the local community.
