Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:

We're seeking volunteers for our Mend & Share Fair on April 25, 2026 at Union Presbyterian Seminary and Yaupon Place. • Supervising floaters within your assigned zone
  • Noticing what needs to be done and delegating tasks
  • Ensuring smooth operations and positive attendee experience

Menders - Share your repair expertise with the community:

  • Providing hands-on repair services (bikes, electronics, textiles, jewelry, small appliances, etc.)
  • Teaching repair skills to attendees
  • Leading workshops on mending, sustainable living, or DIY maintenance

Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:

  • Floaters: No specific skills required - just enthusiasm and willingness to help! Ages 16+ or ages 10+ with a guardian/partner present.
  • Zone Managers: Leadership skills, ability to take initiative, and comfort directing others. Ages 17+.
  • Menders: Demonstrated expertise in your repair specialty or workshop topic. All ages welcome depending on the skill.

Time Commitment:

Morning shift: 8:30am - 12:15pm on April 25, 2026. You're welcome to volunteer for both the morning and afternoon shifts - we'll coordinate that when we connect!

If you're interested in helping plan the event or taking on additional responsibilities beyond your shift, please let us know in your expression of interest - we'd love the extra support!

Other Information (if applicable):
