VCU Volunteer Day of Service at Carver Elementary School (School Beautification)
Brief Organizational Description:

Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:
Volunteers will help create a cleaner and more welcoming environment for the students, parents, and staff at G.W. Carver Elementary School. The purpose of this beautification event is to ensure the front of the school, the playground, and the surrounding areas are clean and ready for everyone to enjoy.
Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:
Tasks may include picking up litter around the school grounds, sweeping and clearing debris from the playground, wiping down play equipment, refreshing mulch in play areas, and assisting with basic outdoor beautification, such as pulling weeds or tidying landscaped spaces. Volunteers should be prepared for light outdoor work.
Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
No special training or qualifications are needed. Please bring your school ID or other valid government ID because you will need to sign-in if you need to enter the school for any reason.
Time Commitment:
9:00 am to 11:30 am (2.5 hours)
Other Information (if applicable):
- The school is walkable from the VCU campus. Also, free parking is available in the lot adjacent to the school and on the street in front of the school.
- Please wear clothes and shoes you don't mind getting dirty. Closed-toe shoes are recommended.
- Bring a water bottle if needed.
