Personal Shopper (On-Site)
Brief Organizational Description:
UGK Community First provides nourishing, farm-to-table meals and fresh groceries made with locally sourced, whole ingredients for neighbors managing chronic diseases, including cancer. Guided by a food-as-medicine approach, we support healing, strength, and overall well-being while honoring dignity and cultural foodways through responsive culinary education. With the support of volunteers and donors, we proudly serve and uplift communities across Greater Richmond, Petersburg, and Chesterfield, offering care, compassion, and nourishment when it is needed most.
Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:
Personal Shoppers shop inside our Nourish Pantry using a provided list to pack ready-to-deliver Nourish Bags for our neighbors. Volunteers carefully select items, ensure accuracy, and pack each bag with care so it’s prepared for smooth and timely delivery.
This shift is great for detail-oriented volunteers who enjoy working independently and making a meaningful impact behind the scenes.
Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:

Shop our onsite Nourish Pantry using a provided grocery list

Select the correct food items for each Nourish Bag

Neatly and thoughtfully pack ready-to-deliver bags

Place completed bags inside designated refrigerators or storage areas

Keep the pantry and packing area clean and organized
Other Information :

All volunteers are asked to wear comfortable pants, a shirt with sleeves (no prints or logos), and closed-toe shoes (no crocs) Please bring a light jacket as our pantry may be cold at times.

There is parking onsite. Parking Instructions will be emailed 24 hours after registration
