Be a Farmer for the day! Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden grows vegetables for FeedMore's Community Kitchen. The project occurs through mid-November (weather permitting), volunteers are needed to assist with: Planting, mulching, weeding, harvesting, and prepping beds. The Community Kitchen Garden covers one third of an acre with a goal of collecting more than 10,000 pounds of fresh produce by the end of the growing season.

Dress for working in the sun and bring bottled water to stay hydrated. Closed toe shoes and gardening gloves are required and wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty! Minimum age to volunteer alone: 18. Minimum age to volunteer with an adult: 13. Note: Our normal volunteer application and interview are not required for this project.

If it's raining the morning of any work session, that session will be cancelled.

You'll feel like you're driving behind the scenes in the garden and will see the big glass dome Conservatory (on your right). Keep driving, and pass the small, old, brick house and turn right into the gravel parking lot.
