Volunteer Hours for Medicaid & SNAP Work Requirements

The Community Foundation is committed to supporting Medicaid and SNAP participants affected by federal work requirements in maintaining their benefits. Medicaid and SNAP participants who must meet this work requirement can use volunteering as one way to do so. Through our volunteer center, CFengage, individuals can easily find volunteer opportunities with eligible nonprofit organizations and track their completed hours.

To learn more about the changes in eligibility requirements, please visit the sites below, or contact the Virginia Department of Social Services: How Can We Help You? - Virginia Department of Social Services

To complete volunteer hours, follow these steps:

  1. Create an account or log in: Volunteer Sign up | CFengage.
  2. Browse available volunteer opportunities: https://www.cfengage.org/search & cfengage.org/calendar.
  3. Sign up for opportunities. You'll receive a confirmation email with more information.
  4. Utilize your dashboard to keep track of all the opportunities you are registered for. If you cannot attend an opportunity you signed up for, please remove yourself!
  5. Attend the opportunity and log your hours, getting a signature each time you volunteer: Volunteer hours log.
  6. Allow the organization 72 hours to mark your attendance. If they do not, please send a photo of your signed volunteer log to civic@cfrichmond.org.
  7. Access your volunteer history on your dashboard. Select Print History to download or print a report of the hours you've completed.
