804 Day Festival
Brief Organizational Description:
804 Day is Richmond’s biggest block party in the heart of Shockoe Bottom. A celebration of all things Richmond with music from some of Richmond's most diverse indie talents, food, drink, arts, culture, and community energy that makes the 804 thrive.
Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:
To help create a successful event that is free to everyone
Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:
Vendor/Nonprofit Set Up - Assist vendors in finding their designated spot and possibly carry items, help put up tents
Beer Pouring - Take ticket from customer, ensure they have a wristband, pour beer from a tap and hand off to customers
Kids Zone - Ensure toys stay in the zone. Children should NOT be left alone
Trash/Table Duty - Walk around the event picking up trash on the ground, or left on tables
Drifters - Provide relief to booth attendants and assist where needed
Vendor Load Out - Assist vendors in carrying their items to the load out point
804 Day Merch Tent - Use point of sale system to complete sales transitions, keep inventory looking tidy
Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
Set up and break down roles require being physically able to lift 30lbs. Be able to tolerate heat of the day and stand for 2 hours.
Time Commitment:
We are asking for 2 hour time slots
Other Information (if applicable):
- Volunteers will need to check in at the volunteer tent.
- Orientation will be scheduled closer to the day.
- Recommended attire: Wear cool clothing that is weather appropriate. Comfy shoes, sunscreen.
- Parking info will be given at orientation and emailed closer to the event.
- Anything volunteers need to bring: Cell phone to communicate with your captain.
- Special instructions, etc.
- Team Captain information will be provided at orientation
- Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your shift to get the lowdown
- Please stay hydrated, wear sunscreen and take breaks when needed
- Please note where emergency services are located
- Keep bring your cell phone charged and volume turned all the way up
