SOAR365 creates life-fulfilling opportunities for individuals with disabilities, annually serving over 1,400 people and their families. Founded in 1954, SOAR365 is an organization created by families, for families, an organization that has grown to provide a continuum of programs and services for individuals with disabilities across their lifespan.
Are you looking for a fun and rewarding way to get involved in your community? Look no further! The Virginia Credit Union River City Half & 5k is coming up on Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 8 am to 11 am, and we're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us manage a water station at mile 8.5, located at Douglasdale Rd. and Blanton Avenue.
This family-friendly event welcomes participants ages 10 and up, making it a perfect opportunity for families and friends to come together for a day of fitness and fun. As a volunteer, your shift will include setting up and breaking down the water station and ensuring that participants stay hydrated and motivated as they reach this milestone in their race.
In appreciation for your time and effort, every volunteer will receive drink tickets and an event t-shirt to commemorate the day. Plus, you'll be satisfied knowing you played a crucial role in supporting our runners and walkers as they strive to reach their goals.

Other Information (if applicable):
- Volunteers will meet at the water station (Douglasdale Rd and Blanton Avenue.)
- Wear comfortable clothes (possibly wear a poncho or bring an umbrella if it rains) and closed toes shoes
- Street parking will be available near the location
- Leave any personal belongings except for keys in your vehicle
