Costco Sorting
Brief Organizational Description:
Village Green RVA seeks to harness the generosity of community resources to help families thrive. This includes preparing healthy and accessible food for community partners while also providing programming for foster, adoptive, and kinship families.
Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:
Costco Sorting happens every Tuesday and every Thursday at 10am-12pm. We need volunteers to help sort and prep the items brought from Costco. This usually takes from about 10am-12pm. Sorting and prepping this food is invaluable to Village Green RVA.
The items received from Costco will immediately be turned into meals for the community, be delivered to Community Fridges, or be distributed amongst community partners.
Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:
Volunteers will prepare food items to be put into individual containers for Community Fridges, cook food for specific meals, and help sort items to give to community partners.
Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
No specific skills needed.
Time Commitment:
Sorting is from 10am-12pm.
Other Information (if applicable):
- Volunteers will be sent an email with any information needed once they have signed up.
- Dress comfortably!
