Food Forest & Edible Garden volunteer group

 

Brief Organizational Description: 
UMFS is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering children, teens, & families through foster care, adoption, education, mental health resources, community support, and therapeutic services. 

Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:
Food Forest and edible gardening maintenance

Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:
Volunteers will be weeding, pruning, fertilizing, and eventually harvesting to support garden health & sustainability 

Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
No training/specific skills necessary; however, a knack for gardening is preferred. 

Time Commitment:
flexibility, early mornings, some afternoons, some weekends

Other Information (if applicable):

  • Volunteers will be able to visit campus to tend to garden needs
  • Volunteers will work with a 2-person team of lead volunteers who will coordinate specific tasks
Children & Youth Education

Age Minimum (with Adult): 1+, Minimum Age:18+
