Preparing Hot Meals
Welcome to Mercy Chefs!
Mercy Chefs is a faith-based, non-profit disaster and humanitarian relief organization. We exist to provide professionally prepared, restaurant-quality meals to victims, volunteers, and first responders in natural disasters and emergencies, and we partner with existing like-minded organizations to further their mission by providing food service in underserved communities across the country and around the globe.
Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:
Volunteers will serve alongside our Managing Chef MarBeth and the other Mercy Chefs team members to create delicious hot meals for individuals, families, school programs, housing developments, all over the Richmond area. Please know you will be standing for the entirety of this service opportunity. We look forward to serving with you! Please know when you arrive you must sign our waiver via Ipad.
Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
No training needed, the Mercy Chefs trained Chefs will be there to help and guide you along the way!
Time Commitment: Monday throught Friday 9:00am-11:00am
Other Information you need to know:
- Please wear close toe shoes
- Please have long hair pulled back into a ponytail
- Please know you will receive a t-shirt upon arrival that you will be able to keep.
- You must park where the Mercy Chef van is located which is on 26th Street off of Nine Mile Road. If you park in the market parking lot or in the surrounding areas, you do have the risk of getting towed.
