The 18th Annual The Latin Jazz and Salsa Festival
Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:
The Latin Jazz and Salsa Festival is a vibrant community event celebrating music, culture, and diversity. It brings the community together in a fun, family-friendly environment while also connecting attendees with local resources and services. Volunteers are essential to helping the event run smoothly, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all. Your support helps strengthen community bonds and expand access to valuable information and assistance.
Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:
Depending on assignment, volunteers may assist with:

Set-up and break-down of event space (tents, tables, signage)

Clean up as needed

Stage help
-
Welcoming guests and providing directions/information

Assisting vendors and performers with needs

Monitoring children’s activity areas

Supporting stage or sound crew
-
Handing out programs or water
-
Clean-up and waste management
-
Parking and crowd control assistance
Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:

Must be at least 16 years old (volunteers under 18 must have parent/guardian consent)

Friendly, reliable, and willing to work as a team

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

No prior experience required; training will be provided
Time Commitment:

Date: August 30, 2025

Volunteers needed between 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM

Shifts available in 4-hour minimum blocks; full-day volunteers are welcome and appreciated
Other Information:

Verification of Hours: Sign-in/sign-out sheet at volunteer check-in booth

Orientation/Training: Brief orientation held 10 minutes before each shift

Attire: Comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes;

What to Bring: Water bottle, sunscreen, snacks if needed (no large bags)

Special Instructions: Arrive 15 minutes early for check-in; please notify us in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule your shift
