Planting Pollinator Berm in Byrd Park
Richmond is a Bee City, dedicated to creating and protecting habitats for our pollinators. We're looking for some worker bees to join Parks, LERN (Local Ecotype Richmond Natives) and the Friends of Byrd Park to install native plantings on a berm created earlier this year to divert storm water from a recently repaired bridge behind Dogwood Dell.
Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:
Volunteers will plant shrubs and plugs.
Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
Gardening experience is a plus!
Time Commitment:
Please plan to attend for the duration of the 3 hour opportunity from 9am-Noon.
Other Information (if applicable):
- Tools and gloves will be provided, but feel free to bring your favorite pair.
- Dress comfortably in clothes you don't mind getting dirty.
- Please wear closed toe shoes.
- Park in the lot next to Dogwood Dell and take a short walk to find us on the wood's edge behind the ampitheater.
