2025/11/15 Bring a Bulb! Plant daffodil bulbs at Hotchkiss Green
Daffodil Bulb Planting Community Volunteer Day
Hotchkiss Field Community Center
701E Bookland Park Blvd
Saturday November 15, 2025
9am-11am
Capital Trees invites you to Bring A Bulb! As the gardens of Hotchkiss Green begin to fill in, we’re welcoming neighbors and friends to add a little piece of themselves to space.
Capital Trees is a local nonprofit working to transform Richmond’s public landscapes into thriving, sustainable greenspaces that restore nature and strengthen community. With the help of volunteers, partners, and neighbors, we nurture vital habitats that clean air and water, welcome wildlife, and create space for health and connection. So we invite you to step off the pavement, get your hands in the dirt, and be part of planting a greener, healthier city!
Greenspaces improve our environment, our health, and our communities. They’re an essential element of climate resilience - cleaning our air and water, reducing extreme temperatures, and creating more connected communities. By using sustainable maintenance practices, like hand weeding and invasives management, these spaces support native biodiversity and provide habitats for pollinators and other wildlife. Having access to public greenspaces also supports our physical and mental health - a place for us all to get fresh air, touch the ground, and connect with each other! Enhancing Richmond’s public greenspaces is a step toward a healthier, happier, and more equitable community.
