Bandy Field Nature Park Spring Volunteer Day
The Friends of Bandy Field Nature Park strives to transform, restore and protect Bandy Field Nature Park to enhance the nature experience of park visitors.
Join us on Saturday, March 21st from 8am to 12 noon. Rain date is Sunday, March 22nd.
Volunteers will work on several projects including pulling up invasive vines (especially English Ivy) and hauling wood chips into our newly reforested area.
Meet at the main entrance to the park located at the intersection of Three Chopt Rd. and Hanover Ave. at 8 am to register and sign a waiver form, RVA City Parks Dept. now require a waiver form for all volunteers, not just children under the age of 18.
Ample parking is available across Three Chopt on Hanover and Ripley Avenues.
Please wear loose clothing that covers your arms and legs, a hat, and sturdy closed toe shoes. The terrain in this area of the park is uneven.
All tools will be provided on site but we ask that you bring a water bottle and your own work gloves.
Refills for your water bottle & snacks will be available at the registration table.
Age Minimum (with Adult): 12+, Minimum Age:14+, Court Ordered Volunteer - Allowed
