Big Spring Planting Day!

 

Groundwork RVA works with Richmond youth and communities to facilitate environmental, economic, and social well-being in neighborhoods by changing places, changing lives, and changing systems. This work would not be accomplished without the help of volunteers!

 

 Help us get our Hillside Farm ready for Spring! Our event will be held at the Hillside Farm located in Southside's Hillside Court. This is a public garden space where community members are able to harvest fresh organically grown produce and take reprieve.

Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:

We will have A LOT of spring crops to plant, litter to pick-up, and invasives to be pulled!

Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
No qualifications or skills required to participate! Any body is welcome. Please let us know if there are any specific accomidations we can make.

Time:
 Saturday April 25th from 11am to 2pm

Other Info:

  • We will have all the supplies needed for this work day!
  • Please wear clothing you're comfortable in getting dirty, wear closed toed shoes, and please bring a water bottle! If you have a pair of gloves and your favorite planting tool, please bring that with you. Otherwise, we will have all the tools and gloves needed!
  • All parking is street parking, but there is plenty of it!
  • We recently installed a solar powered fridge too! This Fridge and Pantry are open 24/7 and are always taking donations. Please reach out to katie@groundworkrva.org for more information
