Bandy Field Nature Park Habitat Restoration Volunteer Day
The Friends of Bandy Field Nature Park’s mission is habitat restoration.
Join us on Saturday, October 31st from 9am to 12 noon. Rain date is Sunday, November 1st.
There are two main activities:
- Loading, hauling, and spreading arborist wood chips around the park trees. The wood chips suppress weeds and help retain moisture while also protecting the trees from mowers.
- Removing invasive English Ivy and wintercreeper from the forest.
Please note that all volunteers are required to complete and sign a volunteer waiver release form. We will have the forms at the registration table located at the Three Chopt Rd. entrance to the park.
Bring a water bottle (we will have refills) and work gloves. All other tools will be provided. Costumes optional!
Age Minimum (with Adult): 12+, Minimum Age:18+, Court Ordered Volunteer - Allowed
