DIY: HOLIDAY DINNER BASKETS
About Housing Families First:
Housing Families First (HFF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization working to address and solve family homelessness in the Richmond region. Through the collective efforts and support of those who walk beside us, we continue to make strides toward a future where every family has a safe place to call home.
Make a Difference with DIY Holiday Dinner Baskets!
The holidays are an exciting time of the year, but for families overcoming homelessness, this season can be challenging. In an effort to provide ongoing support to the families we serve, Housing Families First aims to give each family in our community programs a holiday dinner basket, enabling them to prepare a special meal this holiday season. With your help, we can make this possible.
This project is perfect for families, congregations, youth groups, civic organizations, corporations, neighbors, and individuals.
How You Can Help:
These kits can be assembled however you see fit: grocery bags, in a laundry basket, tote bag, or small plastic bin.
Each Basket should include:

(2) cans of Green Beans
-
(2) cans of Yams
-
(1) bag of Marshmallows
-
(1) bag of Brown Sugar
-
(1) can of Cranberry Sauce
-
(1) box or bag of Stuffing Mix
-
(1) box Instant Mashed Potatoes
-
(1) box of Corn Bread mix
-
(1) box of Elbow Macaroni
-
(1) Non-Perishable Dessert (e.g. cookie, cake or brownie mix)

(1) $25 grocery store gift card
A few important notes:
- Once you express interest, someone from HFF's team will contact you within two business days to thank you for your sign up and to answer any questions you may have. If you do not have any questions, feel free getting started on putting your basket together.
- Baskets need to be delivered between November 1st and December 13th, 2024 to HFF's administrative office located at 3900 Nine Mile Rd, Richmond VA 23223. If you are dropping off for Thanksgiving we would like to have in house by 11/19 and 12/13 for Christmas.
- Drop offs/Deliveries will only be accepted Monday-Friday between 9A-5P.
- These baskets will qualify for community service hours, if needed. Please contact us to discuss further.
- We would be happy to issue a donation receipt for your Gift in Kind. Please let us know if you would like one.
