Planet Rock Community Garden - MLK Day of Service 2025
Brief Organization Description:
We are the people leading a new education to revolutionize our children’s knowledge through the demonstration of service to the community, the people, the garden. Our motto “plan it, plant it, and watch it grow.”
Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:
We will be celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's birthday with a city wide day of service in each district. For the 9th district, we are breaking ground for brand new community garden PlanetRock.
Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:
- Installing fence railings
- planting fruit trees
Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
- Closed toe shoes
- Personal water bottles
- Bending and squatting
- The ability to lift 30 pounds
- The use of a mallet, shovel, and hand cultivator
Time Commitment:
January 20th 10:00am-02:00pm
Other Information:
The garden is located at the entrance of Broad Rock Sports Complex. Once entering, park on the left next to the basketball courts. From there you will see signs directing you to where the volunteer event will be.
