Community Garden Fruit Tree Planting at Blackwell Park
Brief Organizational Description:
The mission of Southside ReLeaf is to improve the quality of life in the Southside by greening communities and advocating with our neighbors.
Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:
Volunteers will be assisting with the planting of four fruit trees at the newly constructed Blackwell Park community garden.
Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plant fruit trees in pre-augered holes
Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
No special skills required. Bending and lifting up to 50lbs is helpful but not necessary. A willingness and ability to perform the duties listed above is all you need to have.
Time Commitment:
Friday, October 24th 2025
10 am - 1 pm (3 hours)
Other Information (if applicable):
- Volunteer hours will be marked in the CFengage System. If you need a signature to document attendance, please bring your form with you.
- Dress for the work and the weather. Closed-toed shoes are required, and long pants are recommended.
- Gloves will be provided, but feel free to bring your own.
- Bring a refillable water bottle.
- Water and snacks will be provided.
- Street parking will be available.
