Alice Fitz Park Tree Planting Treelay
Join the Treelay, a watershed-wide hands-on volunteer day, focused on restoring our local forests!
We will be planting 15 trees at Alice Fitz Playground on the Southside of Richmond. This planting is in partnership with the City of Richmond Parks & Rec as a part of the Cool The City campaign. Funding for this project is provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service. This institution is an equal opportunity provider.
What to wear & bring
Please dress for the weather, we are rain or shine! Volunteers need to wear long pants, clothes that can get dirty, and close-toed shoes (boots recommended). We also recommend a hat, sunscreen, and gloves if you have them. Please bring water for yourself.
Accessibility
Volunteers should be prepared to walk over uneven ground, bend, stoop, kneel, dig, and do some minor lifting. A planting demonstration will be given at the beginning of the event. Children of all ages are welcome to attend with their guardians. Please follow all parking directions when arriving.
Location
This planting location is in the Manchester neighborhood of Richmond, VA. Upon successful registration for this event, the exact event address will be sent to the registrant. Reminder emails are also sent approximately 3 days prior to the event and the day of the event via email.
