Tree Inventory and Canopy Assessments with Capital Trees and Henrico Co
Join Capital Trees and Henrico County's Division of Sustainability...
...for an informative volunteer session focused on enhancing our local tree canopy! Targeted towards Henrico County staff and summer interns, this opportunity is also open to community members eager to contribute to local environmental efforts. Practice essential skills in tree and invasive species identification while assisting with site-specific canopy assessments and inventory work within Henrico County parks. This work supports the ongoing reforestation program and tree canopy expansion initiatives highlighted by both Henrico County and Capital Trees. This is a fantastic chance to play an active role in understanding and improving our greenspaces!
We will spend 2 hours (8am-10:30am) for each session working in teams to assess and documet the current overall condition native species at the below parks. ***These opportunities are intended for those volunteers and Henrico County summer interns who've attended one of the Tree Identification and Canopy Assessment Training Courses previously offered. If you have not completed the training course but would still like to participate, please reach out to jesse@capitaltrees.org***
