Henrico Lawncare Assistance Project
Brief Organizational Description:
Henrico County’s Volunteer Services Program strives to provide meaningful volunteer opportunities to individuals and groups seeking to devote their time and services to our organization. Volunteers can make a difference in many ways to include volunteering for park clean ups, serving at the animal shelter, and many more.
Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:
Help make a difference by assisting an older adult with basic yard maintenance. Volunteers will help cut grass, trim hedges, remove weeds and overgrowth, and improve the overall appearance and safety of the property.
This is a hands-on outdoor project for 10 volunteers who are comfortable performing light to moderate physical work.
Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:
Volunteer Requirements:
- Wear closed-toe shoes.
- Dress comfortably for outdoor work.
- Be prepared to work in various weather conditions.
What We Provide:
- Lawn equipment
- Work gloves
- Water
Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age
Time Commitment:
9am - 1pm

- The address will be shared after individuals sign up to help protect the privacy of the resident.
- Street parking will be available throughout the neighborhood.
