Fuchsia Freedom Garden Spruce Up (VCU)
The City of Richmond’s Office of Neighborhood Engagement (ONE) was established in 2024 and plays a vital role in building and maintaining strong relationships between residents, community leaders, and local government. ONE coordinates services for neighborhoods, fosters a sense of community, promotes active participation, and contributes to the overall well-being and vibrancy of our neighborhoods.
Join us for a community beautification project at Fuschia Freedom Garden! Volunteers will work alongside the Garden Steward to help spruce up and maintain this community garden.
Date: 10/1/2026
Time: 10 am-12 pm
Volunteers will receive direction from the Garden Steward and may assist with a variety of garden maintenance activities, including:
- Weeding garden beds and surrounding areas
- Removing debris and unwanted vegetation
- Plant maintenance and care
- Mulching and refreshing garden beds
- Pruning and trimming as needed
- General garden cleanup and beautification
- Other tasks identified by the Garden Steward
No gardening experience is required!
Volunteers should come prepared to work outdoors and get their hands dirty while helping keep Fuschia Freedom Garden beautiful and welcoming for the community.

- Dress Comfortably; closed-toe shoes required
- Parking: Street Parking alongside 520 N Adams St
- Location: 520 N Adams Street (Behind Success Academy School)
- Bring a water bottle
