The Community Foundation is committed to building a strong, sustainable network of local nonprofits. Our Engagement Center, CFengage, is an online tool that helps nonprofits grow their impact through access to a variety of resources and multiple ways to connect with community members who want to share their time, talent and treasure. 

Engagement Center Tools for Nonprofits

Volunteer Center 

  • Volunteer Postings – Recruit and manage volunteers through posting volunteer opportunities, gaining exposure to our wide volunteer network across the Richmond region.   

  • Skills-Based Volunteering – Use Skills Connect to post short-term volunteer opportunities that require a specific professional skill such as marketing, technology, human resources and more.   

  • Group Volunteer Opportunities – Partner nonprofits may be matched with volunteer groups from local businesses or community groups.  

Jobs – Post job openings on our Job Finder, the go-to portal for local nonprofit job seekers.  

Wishlist – Post in-kind donations needed to support their organization, simplifying the purchasing process for community members who want to contribute.

Perks of Being a Partner

  • Visibility – Partners increase their exposure and engagement through access to over 25,000 passionate community members  

  • Connection to Resources – In addition to the tools on CFengage, partners receive information about Community Foundation and Richmond area resources.   

  • Support from Staff – Community Foundation staff are available to provide technical support and will collaborate with you to ensure your public facing posts are clear and compelling.  



Eligibility Requirements 

Organizations eligible for partnership are both:  

  • Designated by the IRS as a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit or faith-based organization; or are a school, government agency, or community organization   

  • Are located in, and serves clients in:  

    • Chesterfield, Colonial Heights, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, Hopewell, Powhatan, Petersburg, Richmond City.  

    • Gloucester, Mathews and the River Counties of Lancaster, Middlesex, and Northumberland.  

    • Has a national or international focus but has offices, staff, or a presence in the Richmond area (this is our designated service area).

How to Become a Partner

  1. Check if your organization is eligible (see above) and review our  Partnership Policy.   

  1. Fill out our  Nonprofit Partner Registration.  Please note that our team will review and approve your registration or contact you within 2 business days.   

    • If your organization is already registered with us, select it from the list.   

    • If you do not find your organization, click ‘My organization is not listed’ and enter the information for your nonprofit on the next screen.
