Remove Invasive Plants

We are a group of volunteers who enjoy and appreciate Forest Hill Park and all it has to offer. Our goals include preserving the park’s amenities by encouraging and demonstrating sensible management and enhancing the park area with projects such as invasive plant removal and erosion control. Forest Hill Park is a jewel, one of the oldest and loveliest open areas in Richmond, and we want it to remain so for many generations to come

English ivy, Japanese honeysuckle, and privet plants are growing in Forest Hill Park.  They infringe on the good health of our native plants, trees and flowers by using moisture, nutrients and sunlight.  Their removal ensures a healthier park.

Volunteers will remove non-native plants such as English Ivy and Japanese honeysuckle.
