Free-A-Tree & other invasive plant control at Pony Pasture

Free-A-Tree and other invasive plant management at Pony Pasture

This April and May invasive plant management at Pony Pasture will focus on "Free-A-Tree", but project leaders may change activity plans based on weather and other factors.

The mission of the JRPS Invasive Plant Task Force is to foster a thriving park ecosystem through invasive plant species management, restoration of native plant communities, public awareness and citizen involvement.

Invasive plants are the greatest threat to healthy natural communities that can support diverse wildlife in the park system.  JRPS invasive management staff partner with the JRPS Invasive Plant Task Force to focus on specific areas and prioritize specific goals for reducing the harmful impact of invasive plants. Volunteers are the backbone of this work much of the year.
