Mayor’s Day of Service: project: HOMES – Accessibility Ramp Installation
Join project:HOMES to celebrate the City of Richmond’s Mayor’s Day of Service on Thursday, September 18 and Friday, September 19. In partnership with the City of Richmond, project:HOMES will lead efforts to install accessibility ramps for residents in need within the City of RIchmond. This hands-on volunteer opportunity directly supports our mission to improve lives and revitalize communities by making homes safer and more accessible.
project:HOMES is a nonprofit organization that takes an all-encompassing approach to housing. We challenge the misconceptions of what defines affordable housing through the production and preservation of high-quality affordable homes, large-scale home repairs, and improved accessibility and energy efficiency for existing homes.
All tools and materials will be provided, and no prior experience is necessary. Volunteers are asked to wear closed-toed shoes for safety and dress comfortably and for the weather as this is an outdoor activity. Specific addresses of the two volunteer sites will be added soon, but will take place within the city. One ramp install will occur on each day during the morning hours. Space is limited, so sign up today to make a meaningful impact in your community.
