Featured DIY - Better Bags for Better2gether
DIY Volunteering allows individuals, families and groups of all ages and sizes to participate in community service from the comfort of their own homes. Volunteers purchase supplies and complete the kits in their own space then drop off completed projects at the designated days/times below.
Better Bags
Beneficiary: Better2gether
Purpose: Better2gether supports and equips families of children with medical complexity with tools to care for their child and creates community among like families. Better Bags provide immediate support to children and families facing unexpected hospital stays or procedures. Each bag is thoughtfully packed with comfort items for both the child and parent, offering encouragement and care during stressful times. The purpose is to bring emotional support, comfort, and a sense of normalcy when life feels overwhelming. By equipping families with helpful resources, the bags ease stress and lighten the burden during these challenging moments.
Volunteers are asked to make 3 Better Bags with an encouraging note.
How To:
1. Sign up for the project by selecting a drop-off date below and clicking sign up below. Every person who plans to volunteer (including youth) must sign up. 2. *Review the project instructions and supply list.*
3. DIY! We ask participants to make 3 Better Bags, each with an encouraging note. There is no maximum contribution for this project, but we will not be able to document more than 3 service hours. Please only sign up for one drop-off date.
4. Drop-off! Bring your completed kits to the drop-off location on the date and time you select.
