2026 Ivy League Spring maintenance kickoff at Ernest Rd Park

Southside ReLeaf invites you to join us as we do seasonal invasive species maintenance in this beautiful natural space by removing English Ivy.

From Spring 2024 through Summer 2025, over 70% of the English Ivy in this green space was removed wtih the help of staff, volunteers and even sheep!

Fall of 2025, 300 trees, and 3750 herbaceous plants were planted.  This year they will sleep, next year they will creep, and in 2028 they will leap!

Come be part of the journey.

Brief Organizational Description:
Our mission is to improve health outcomes and the quality of life for Southside Richmond by building green spaces and advocating for people-centered policy.

Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:

This phase of the project involves clearing ground ivy prior to Spring growth, so our natives can flourish.  As a volunteer, you will assist us in clearing these areas by participating in some very rewarding English Ivy removal.

Please email Lisa@SouthsideReleaf.org to ensure proper tools are available for standing ivy removal.
