Boushall Middle School Tree Maintenance Day
Southside ReLeaf invites you to join us at Boushall Middle School for a tree maintenance day!
Brief Organizational Description:
Our mission is to improve health outcomes and the quality of life for Southside Richmond by building green spaces and advocating for people-centered policy.
Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:
Last fall, we planted 30 new trees at Boushall Middle School, with the help of our volunteers. Now that it's spring, we are asking for community support to tend to these young trees. We will weed, reset cages, and learn to use arbor ties to help these trees grow straight and tall!
Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:
- Hand tying arbor ties
- Hand pulling weeds
- Using scissors to cut zip ties to remove cages
- Using trash grabbers to support cleaning the site
Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
Anyone willing to show some love to this green space is welcome to join!
Time Commitment:
Sunday, 3/29/26, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Other Information (if applicable):
- Volunteer attendance will be tracked in the CFengage system. If you need a signature to document attendance, please bring your form.
- Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes.
- Parking is available in the new permeable parking lot. You may also park in the school parking lot for this event.
- Please bring a refillable water bottle. You are welcome to bring your own gloves, but we will provide a pair to everyone.
