The Altria RFP process for submitting team volunteer event proposals is now open.
Please review the important details below before submitting your proposal, as they will serve as a helpful reference while completing the form.

We accept proposals year-round; however, the primary project season runs from March 1 through December 13, 2025. Submitting your proposal earlier in this window increases the likelihood of it being selected by a corporate team.

To receive a grant:

  • Submitting organizations must be an active CF engage partner. Confirm or apply for partnership HERE.
  • The designated project point person must have completed a Get Project Ready training session.
If they have previously attended this training, they do not need to complete it again. New sessions are offered throughout the year—please email us at civic@cfrichmond.org to be notified of upcoming dates..

Important Information

  • Project Logistics - Projects must occur during business hours, Monday – Friday. Projects must be in-person and scoped for approximately 8-30 volunteers. Projects with flexible dates are encouraged.
  • Project Type - In-person! Do not submit proposals where volunteers are in direct interaction with youth.
  • Number of Proposals -  Organizations may submit multiple proposals.  Each project should be submitted separately with a corresponding budget.
  • Resources - Up to $5000 will be awarded per project. Funds must be spent on supplies and activities related to the project. Funds cannot be spent on staff salary. Funds will be sent directly to the organization when a project is matched to an Altria Volunteer group. We are unable to fund food for volunteers and large items like televisions and refrigerators. When submitting project budgets, please be mindful of requested volunteer numbers.
  • Project Materials -The Richmond Community ToolBank is a great resource for tools or equipment you may need for your project. Please ensure the project budget includes the cost of renting equipment.
  • Project Selection - Approved projects will be shared with Altria. Altria team leads will select projects approximately 4-6 weeks prior to their preferred project date. Altria will recruit volunteers internally.
