Invasive Removal at The Wetlands
Celebrate fall by heading back into the James River Park System to remove invasive plant species and nurture healthy habitat!
Our work at The Wetlands will focus on "Free A Tree" primarily in areas that have been worked on before but need follow up. Volunteers will use hand tools (mostly just pruners, possibly long-handled loppers and/or hand saws) to cut vines and then manually remove vine groundcover around the base of trees. We may do additional invasive vine groundcover removal.
No experience is necessary, only the willingness to listen, learn, and follow all guidance. Arriving on time is a must, as is dressing for the work (see below). Work gloves and tools are provided.
